Woah we're (probably not) halfway there

It's been a while since i've had a chance to really get into this, but I've managed to plough a few hours in the last few days and we've got some progress...

Player Sprites
|I've been really unhappy about the original sprites, wanted a game with more representation and variety. So I've tinkered a little bit with shaders to create a palatte of skin tones and randomised hair and clothing colours. Eventually I plan to make the PC fully customisable and the customers randomly assemble from provided sprites.

Other Sprites
I spent a little time cleaning up the sprites and making it more readable to someone who didn't know what I meant by T/A or Am

View port
Rather than rendering the whole room I've brought in a viewport with 1:2 ration scaling to make the game a bit cozier and introduce another challenge aspect of managing the shop

Menu system
This is currently just a placeholder for what will come

Levels and narrative
The first few lines of narrative scripting and tutorial mode has been added.

Coming next...

So next things to work on are the level ending mechanics, level-end screen and progress tracking. I feel like they're going to all go together into one scripting package.

Then it's developing the script through the planned out levels

After that it's endless mode, the end-game which is a barista-to-the-death loop with increasing difficulty and a new customer type that causes the end of loop.

Alongside these mechanical changes, I would like to add more variety of sprites, animate the people and maybe include some sound.

Beyond that I think I'd find myself content with the project. The intent of this was the learn to code during lockdown, that's long past but I'm having fun developing this none-the-less.
